Vol. 8 No. 9

VOTE NO. 5 . - ADJOURNMENT OF THE DAIL.

PRESIDENT

I move the adjournment of the Dáil until 12 o'clock to-morrow.

The Minister for Education mentioned on Wednesday that he would like to take Estimate 44 (Science and Art) to-morrow, and we put a memorandum on the Order Paper to that effect. The Minister for Education is now responsible for this Vote, and not the Minister for Lands and Agriculture. I do not know what the President's arrangements in that matter may be.

PRESIDENT

We will take it first to-morrow after the legislative programme. I would remind the House that we have already spent thirty hours on the Estimates, and if we mean to adjourn before the Bank Holiday in August there will not be many opportunities to look up further reports in connection with the various Estimates. I would propose to take Vote 44 to-morrow after the Military Service Bill.

There is only one matter to-morrow, the Local Officers (War Period) Compensation Bill. When that is disposed of we will take Vote 44, and then resume the discussion on this Vote.

Question put and agreed to.
The Dáil adjourned at 10.30 p.m. until 12 o'clock on Friday, 11th July.
