Vol. 8 No. 9

WRITTEN ANSWER. - POSTAL OFFICIAL'S PENSION.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that Patrick Joseph Egan, 8 Summerhill, Waterford, retired from the Postal Service on May 17th, 1924, and applied for pension, and if he will expedite a settlement of same.

Mr. P.J. Egan, a sorting clerk and telegraphist at Waterford, applied for retirement under Article 10 of the Treaty in consequence of the change of Government. His application was admitted by the Civil Service Committee (Compensation) and he was released from the service on the 17th May. An award of compensation has not yet been notified by the Department of Finance, but when it is received, arrangements will at once be made to effect payment.
