Vol. 8 No. 21

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - LEAVE FOR PRISON OFFICIALS.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that officers of Mountjoy Prison staff cannot get equivalent leave for excess duty performed during weeks past; if he will order immediate payment of overtime pay with a view to relieving some of the discontent prevailing in that Institution.

It has not been found possible to allow time off in lieu of excess hours worked by some warders at Mountjoy Prison while the Central Criminal Court has been sitting. The General Prisons Board have given authority for the payment of overtime in these cases.
