Vol. 9 No. 8

WRITTEN ANSWER. - BALLINASLOE DECREE FOR MALICIOUS DAMAGES.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the amount of the decree of £26 granted to Mr. Martin Concannon, Briarfield, Ballinasloe, at Galway, in February last, for damage to furniture, has yet been paid, and, if not, whether he will see that this matter receives immediate attention; also, whether the claim on account of personal injuries received by Mr. Concannon, in February, 1920, has yet been considered, and, if so, with what result.

The amount of the decree referred to is £21, and not £26, as suggested by the Deputy. A paying order for £30 8s. 3d. (including £9 8s. 3d. costs) was sent to Mr. Concannon's solicitor on the 20th ultimo.

Mr. Concannon's application for compensation in respect of personal injuries was considered by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, who recommended that no compensation should be paid. This decision was communicated to the applicant's solicitor on the 1st ultimo.
