Vol. 9 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LOANS FOR BUILDING.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Finance whether the Board of Works is empowered and does advance money to persons residing in urban districts for the purpose of erecting dwelling houses for themselves, and, if so, if he will state the time given to repay the loan and the interest charged.

The Board of Works are not empowered to make, nor do they make, any advances to persons residing in Urban Districts for the purpose of erecting dwelling-houses for their own occupation.

Can such persons get an advance from any Department of Government?

I understand there is a Housing (Building Facilities) Act in operation.

Does it apply to urban districts?

Certainly.
