Vol. 9 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ATHLONE O.A.P. CASE.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the old age pension granted to Mrs. Margaret Tiernan, Inchmore, Glasson, Athlone, has been reduced by four shillings per week; that her only means of income is two acres of land on the island, which is, during two-thirds of the year, covered with water; and whether he will, owing to the hardship which this reduction will cause to this pensioner, reconsider the case.

I have no information as to the details of this case. If the applicant is aggrieved at the reduction in her pension, she should lodge an appeal to the Minister for Local Government as provided by the Old Age Pension Acts.
