Vol. 9 No. 25

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - BALLINASLOE COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence whether an application had been received for compensation or pension for Mrs. L. Keighrey, Brackernagh, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, on account of the loss of her son killed in action in August, 1922, at Patrickswell, while serving with the National Army, and, if so, if he will state what steps have been taken towards granting such compensation or pension.

Mrs. Keighrey's claim under the Army Pensions Act, 1923; was received and investigated. It was ascertained that at the date of her son's death she was neither wholly nor partially dependent upon him. Her claim could not therefore be allowed. In this connection I would refer the Deputy to paragraphs 7 and 8 of the Third Schedule to the Act.
