asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the number and total amount of grants sanctioned under the Housing (Building Facilities) Acts, 1924, for the building or reconstruction of houses and flats; the number of such houses in rural and urban areas respectively; and the number of such houses and flats the erection or reconstruction of which has been completed.

Does the latter part of the answer give the number of houses reconstructed in rural areas?

Yes. The number of houses approved for reconstruction is 44. The number actually completed is four. The other forty are in course of reconstruction. The Deputy will recollect that there was a limit, I think, of eight hundred yards, under which reconstruction proposals under the Act were to operate.
