Vol. 10 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFIT (CO. KILDARE CLAIM).

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can state why unemployment insurance benefit has not been paid to William Howe, Johnstown, Straffan, Co. Kildare, by the Newbridge Office; and if he is aware that his card was duly stamped by his late employer, Mr. Thomas Lendrum, Saw Mills, Naas, up to May 1st, 1924.

William Howe claimed benefit at the Droichead Nua Branch Employment Office on the 23rd May, 1924, and in respect of this claim he was entitled to 8 days' unemployment insurance benefit at the rate of 2/6 per day. According to the records of the Department, Mr. Howe was paid the full amount of benefit due to him on the 11th July, 1924, but as Mr. Howe has denied receiving any payment, the matter is under investigation by the Department.
