Vol. 10 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SECONDARY TEACHERS' INCREMENT.

asked the Minister for Education if he can state what arrangements are being made to expedite as much as possible the payment to secondary teachers of the increment grant due to them as from 31st January, 1925, and voted by the Dáil on the 5th March, 1925.

Any delay which has occurred in having these payments made is due to the additional work involved in the introduction of a new system of the kind and the fact that the staff which deals with this work are specially occupied at present in connection with the payment of school grants, which are normally made during the month of March. Every effort is being made to expedite the arrangements and to see that no avoidable delay occurs.
