Vol. 10 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - THE WELSTEAD ESTATE, CO. CORK.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he can now state whether the Land Commission have taken possession of the Welstead Estate at Ballywalter, Shanballymore, Co. Cork.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission have made a proposal to purchase the estate referred to, which has been accepted by the owner; but until the requirements of the Statutes as to title have been complied with, the Commissioners will not be in a position to take over possession thereof.

I would like if the Minister would take over the land immediately, as there are 50 acres of it which were broken last year and which could be tilled this year.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission must first of all attend to Deputy Hall's requirements.
