Vol. 11 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS ORAL ANSWERS. - REPAIR OF DUNSHAUGHLIN WORKHOUSE.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state the amount of compensation paid by the British Military Authorities in respect of damage done to Dunshaughlin Workhouse during the occupation of that building by British forces; whether, in view of the fact that, the building is in a bad state of repair, it is proposed to use such moneys as have been paid by the British authorities on the renovation of the Workhouse, or whether it is intended to dispose of this building, and in what way.

Claims in respect of damage to Workhouses occupied by British Military are under investigation. No award has yet been made in respect of Dunshaughlin Workhouse. The purposes to which workhouses not required under the present County Schemes will be put will not be definitely determined pending the findings of the Commission on the relief of the destitute sick and poor, including the insane poor.
