Vol. 11 No. 3

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - HEARING OF COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that a claim for compensation for malicious injuries lodged by Messrs. T. McCarrick & Sons, Walker's Road, Sligo, in September, 1922, has not yet been heard, whether the hearing has been adjourned on the application of his department, and whether the case is likely to be heard at an early date.

A large number of applications for compensation under the Damage to Property (Compensation) Act, 1923, have been adjourned in Sligo, chiefly, I understand, because owing to pressure of business the Judge has been unable to deal with them. I am unable to indicate when this particular claim will be heard, but I will see that so far as my Department is concerned there will be no objection to the case being disposed of at the next sitting of the Court.
