According to the information available to my Department there are three firms manufacturing hats in the Saorstát, which employ at present twenty persons. I assume that the question refers to men's hats, and the figures given are prepared on that basis. The firms in question deal with hard felt and bowler hats.
The question was intended to refer to all hats. Does the Minister know if there is any firm manufacturing ladies' or children's hats?
I have no information on the question of ladies' hats.
