Vol. 11 No. 8

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - LORD DUNSANY'S (CO. MEATH) ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the Land Commission have made an offer of purchase to Lord Dunsany in respect of a twenty-five acre estate known as Lackanask, at Trim, Co. Meath, and whether the Land Commission would consider the necessity of acquiring same for the purpose of a cow park to enable people living in Trim town with one or two cows to find grass for them, and whether in the event of the Land Commission acquiring this estate he would consider the advisability of having same vested in the Trim Urban Council, who could retain it on behalf of the people.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission are not yet in a position to make an offer under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the purchase of the lands of Lackanask, County Meath, on the Dunsany Estate.

If the lands are acquired, the question of vesting same in trustees for the benefit of the townspeople of Trim will be considered.
