Vol. 11 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLAIM FOR ARREARS OF ARMY PAY (SLIGO).

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that the claim for arrears of pay of Sergeant Andrew Mitchell, of Sligo, late No. 27825, which he stated on December 12th, 1924, would be disposed of with the least possible delay, has not yet been settled, and whether he can give any reason for the delay in this matter.

I regret that the necessary enquiries into Mr. Mitchell's claim took a longer time than was anticipated when I answered the previous question to which the Deputy refers. This was mainly due to the fact that certain evidence submitted by Mr. Mitchell was found to be unacceptable. The case is now complete and will be settled at once.
