Vol. 11 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - AGE LIMITS FOR CIVIL SERVICE CLERKS' EXAMINATIONS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether any age limits have been fixed for the examination for the clerical grade of Civil Service clerks to be held on the 30th June, 1925, and whether he is aware that no such limits appear in the Regulations for the examination laid on the Table of the Dáil on April 21st, 1925.

Candidates for the examination referred to must not be under 18 nor over 55 years of age on 1st June, 1925. These age limits have been laid down in regulations made under Section 4 (1) of the Civil Service Regulation Act, 1924, which have been duly published in Iris Oifigiúil as required by the Act. The Regulation laid on the Table of the Dáil is a special Regulation necessary under Section 4 (3) of the Act, only for the purpose of enabling the examination to be specially confined to a specified class of candidate, namely, those with six months' temporary service in a Government Department.
