Vol. 11 No. 10

LATE SITTING—ORDER OF BUSINESS.

I move that the Dáil sit later than 8.30, and that the motion for the adjournment be taken not later than midnight. We have already given to the consideration of the Budget and the Finance Resolutions 23 hours, so this means an additional 8, bringing it to 31. The resolutions have certainly to be passed by to-morrow at the latest. As there are two Bills awaiting consideration to-morrow, I think it is only reasonable we should have an opportunity of considering them.

What is the order of business for to-morrow?

We hope to move the adjournment at midnight to-night until 11 a.m. to-morrow, and to sit to-morrow until the Shannon Bill and the Fisheries Bill are dealt with. If at 5 p.m. we find that the Fisheries Bill is not finished we shall probably leave it over until Tuesday.

My object was to make certain that the Shannon Bill will be the first business to-morrow after questions.

I have given an undertaking to that effect to the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
