Vol. 11 No. 14

ORDER OF BUSINESS.

I propose to take the Estimates as they appear on the Order Paper to-day. It might be necessary to leave out No. 5 (Department of Finance), but otherwise we will take them as they stand. In order to cover ourselves, however, I think it better to move that the motion for the adjournment be taken not later than 10.30. If, at 7 or 7.30, we find it is not necessary to sit late, then the sitting need not be suspended for any interval and we might rise at 8.30, but in order to be on the safe side, I give notice that the adjournment be moved not later than 10.30.

Does the President seriously suggest that it is possible to clear off such an amount of Estimates, which includes the Army, the Oireachtas and the Office of the President before 8.30?

Well, to save myself, I move that the adjournment be taken not later than 10.30.

Question put and agreed to.
