Vol. 11 No. 16

DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE BILL, 1925—FIRST STAGE.

I ask leave of the Dáil to introduce the Documentary Evidence Bill, 1925. This is a purely technical measure dealing with the method of legal proof of Acts of the Oireachtas and of certain other official Acts and Orders. It regularises the position of the Stationery Office and provides for the imposition of penalties for the printing or publication of documents falsely purporting to have been printed or published under the superintendence of or with the authority of the Stationery Office, as well as for the publication of untrue copies of Acts or documents of State.

Leave given to introduce Bill; Second Stage fixed for Tuesday, May 26th.
