Vol. 12 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MAYO MOTOR OWNER'S CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence if he has received a claim on account of a Maxwell car, Engine No. 318887, the property of Mr. Diarmuid O'Brien, of Knappa, Westport, Co. Mayo, which, it is stated, was commandeered by the National Army on July 26th, 1922, and if so, whether the claim has been investigated, and what decision has been taken thereon.

A claim has been received from Mr. Dermod O'Brien, in respect of a Maxwell motor-car, and is at present under investigation. It is a particularly difficult case to deal with in view of the fact that a claim has also been received from the Industrial Guarantee Corporation, London, in respect of the same car.
