Vol. 12 No. 9

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS ORAL ANSWERS. - KANTURK POSTAL DELIVERIES.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that there is great dissatisfaction at the late delivery of letters in Kanturk and Millstreet, deliveries starting at 10.30 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively, and, if so, if he will give an earlier delivery or revert to the system that obtained before the change was made.

I have been considering for some time past proposals for motor mail car working in the Banteer, Kanturk and Kingwilliamstown area for the acceleration of the mail services. It is hoped to arrive shortly at a favourable decision, which I will communicate to the Deputy.

In the case of Millstreet, I find that acceleration has already taken place. Since the 18th ultimo the delivery there commences at 8.20 a.m. instead of 10.50 a.m., as previously.
