Vol. 12 No. 10

COMMITTEE ON FINANCE. - BUSINESS OF THE DAIL.

I would like to say that we propose to take the Estimate for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on Tuesday or Wednesday next; Tuesday, if the agenda will permit it, and, if not, on Wednesday. I make that announcement now, be cause it might be thought that the Estimate would be taken to-morrow.

What other Votes will be taken to-morrow?

The other Votes to be taken will be the Reformatory and Industrial Schools and the National Health Insurance. I have been asked to postpone the Seanad Resolution for consideration until a date not earlier than to-morrow week, that is, the 25th June.

Before the Dáil adjourns, in order not to spring the matter to-morrow on the President, I want to say that the Local Government elections will take place on next Tuesday, and I want him to consider the advisability of leaving the reassembling of the Dáil for next week over until Wednesday. It is very vital that everybody should record his vote one way or another. That is a gospel that has been preached very widely, and I think we have a right to fall into line with it here.

I had not thought of that. I think it is a reasonable request.

I mention the matter now in order that the President may be able to make up his mind to-morrow.

The Dáil adjourned at 10.30 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, 18th June.
