Vol. 12 No. 11

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. (ORAL ANSWERS.) - HOLD-UP OF GOODS AT NORTH WALL.

asked the Minister for Finance if he can state whether a consignment of goods forwarded on May 1st, 1925, by a Manchester firm and directed to Messrs. A.M. O'Farrell and Son, Naas, County Kildare, and which has not been delivered, is held up by the Customs authorities at the North Wall.

I am having inquiries made in this case, and will communicate with the Deputy as soon as possible.

Arising out of that answer, the consignees have written three times to the North Wall, and they have been unable to find out what sum is to be paid. This is a very serious matter for the firm. These are summer goods, and probably the summer will be gone before the goods reach these people. They were sent off on the 1st May, and another consignment, sent from London on the 26th May, has not arrived yet.
