Vol. 12 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REPRESENTATION ON INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he has given consideration to the question of the appointment of a delegate on the Permanent Committee of the International Institute of Agriculture, Rome, and if he considers it would be in the interest of agriculture in the Saorstát to have such a permanent representative on the Committee of the Institute.

The Minister for Lands and Agriculture is satisfied as to the desirability of the appointment of a representative of Saorstát Eireann on the Permanent Committee of the International Institute of Agriculture at Rome, and has had the matter under consideration. The question is, however, closely connected with that of the appointment of a permanent diplomatic representative of the Saorstát at Rome. When such an appointment is made, the holder of that office can probably also act as our representative on the Permanent Committee of the Institute.
