asked the Minister for Finance whether he has considered the claim for financial assistance forwarded to him by the Minister for Defence about thirteen months ago, of Mrs. T. Nolan, Nurney, Co. Kildare, widow of the late Thomas Nolan, No. 1645 Gárda Síochána, and, if so, if he can state when Mrs. Nolan may expect a settlement.

A Pensions Order for the Gárda Síochána has now been made by the Minister for Justice, and will be laid before each House of the Oireachtas for approval in the course of the next week. If and when the Order is approved, I trust it will be possible to make a grant in Mrs. Nolan's case.
