Vol. 13 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DUNMANWAY R.I.C.-MAN'S PENSION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state the reasons for his refusal to grant a pension to Denis Regan, Garryglass, Drinagh, Dunmanway, Co. Cork, a resigned R.I.C. man.

Mr. Regan was discharged from the R.I.C. as medically unfit for further service, with the gratuity appropriate to his years of service, in accordance with statutory regulations, and I have been advised that there is no power under Section 5 of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1923, to award a pension in his case.
