Vol. 13 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PRINTING FOR SEANAD ELECTION.

TOMAS MAC EOIN

asked the Minister for Finance if any printing was done by the Ordnance Survey Office for any candidate in connection with the recent Seanad election, use being made of the type, paper, plant and staff of the office; if so, whether permission was obtained, and the cost agreed upon, before any such work was commenced, and whether it is intended to allow private use to be made in future of departmental facilities for printing.

The answer to all parts of the question is in the negative.

Will the Minister make inquiries—closer inquiries—as to whether the statements implied in this question have not a foundation of truth?

Nothing was done with authority, but I am making inquiries to discover whether anything was done by any individual surreptitously.

My question was not directed to the point as to whether it was done with authority.

Nothing was done by the Office.

That touches on only one part of the question.
