CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SECRETARYSHIP OF OFFALY COUNTY COUNCIL.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether his Department was represented on the Selection Board set up by the Civil Service Commissioners for the purpose of making a suitable recommendation for the vacant position of Secretary to the Offaly County Council, and whether any recommendations were submitted to his Department as to persons suitable for the position, and if so, whether those recommendations were turned down, and for what reasons.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. No persons were recommended to my Department as being suitable for the position.

Am I to understand that no recommendations were submitted to your Department?

No recommendations were submitted to my Department.
