Vol. 13 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ARIGNA MINES COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that at the sitting of the Court in Boyle on January 31st, 1925, Judge Wakely reported for £1,133, with costs, etc., in favour of the Arigna Mining Co., Ltd., for malicious injuries to their mines and other properties; whether this claim is in the hands of his Department since 1922, and if he will say what is the cause of delay in settling the claim.

The Judge's report was lodged in my Department on the 25th March last. Enquiries regarding the case have been necessary, and it is hoped to complete these at an early date.

Is the Minister aware that he told me that four months ago? What is his definition of an early date?

Can the Minister say when the inquiries will be completed?

It was necessary to have further inquiries made in regard to a couple of matters in connection with this case. Those matters have been found extraordinarily difficult and involved and the inquiries in regard to them are not yet complete.
