Vol. 13 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - FURTHERANCE OF NATIONAL CAUSE.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that Martin Murphy, Dowdenstown, Ballymore-Eustace, who advanced £10 on the 21st October, 1921, for the furtherance of the National cause, and received a receipt from responsible authority, has not been repaid, and whether he will have inquiries made into the matter.

I am aware that a claim has been made by the person named by the Deputy for refund of a sum of £10 stated to have been advanced in September, 1921, but I must refer the Deputy to Section 5, Subsection 3 (a) (II) of the Indemnity Act, 1924, from which he will see that claims of this kind are specifically excluded from the scope of the Act.
