Vol. 13 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PRE-TRUCE PERSONAL INJURIES CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether a claim in respect of personal injuries received by Mr. William Quane, of Lackendarragh, Angles-borough, County Limerick, at the hands of British Forces, was lodged with the Personal Injuries Committee in June, 1923; whether the decision of the Committee communicated to the claimant's solicitor in September, 1925, was to the effect that no compensation would be paid in respect of the claim; whether he is aware that claimant can produce medical evidence in support of his claim, which was not considered by the Committee, and if he will have the case re-heard by the Committee.

The application of the person named by the Deputy was carefully considered by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee in accordance with their terms of reference. The Committee had sufficient particulars presented to them in the form of application submitted to enable them to form the conclusion that the applicant did not sustain any injury of a serious or permanent nature and that he did not suffer any impairment of earning capacity. They accordingly recommended that no compensation should be paid. This decision was conveyed to the applicant's solicitor on the 25th September, 1924.

I agree with the finding of the Committee in this case and I am not disposed to vary their recommendation.
