Vol. 13 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CARLOW COUNTY HOME.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if it is his intention to change the County Home in Carlow back to the old union; whether he is aware that a large sum of money has been expended to make the Home comfortable, and whether, in view of the fact that the old union has been now rendered absolutely unsuitable owing to its having been occupied by military, he will give an undertaking not to remove the aged and the feeble from their present Home.

I have not expressed an intention of the nature indicated in the question. Undertakings on matters which involve other parties cannot be given by me, but in any proposals which come before me the well-being of the aged and feeble inmates will be a paramount consideration.
