WRITTEN ANSWERS. - WESTMEATH RANCH LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if any decision has been arrived at relative to the acquisition of the ranch lands of Higginstown and Balroan, now occupied by Colonel Purdon Winter, Lisnabin, and, if not, whether he will expedite the acquisition of same owing to congestion and the very large number of uneconomic holders in the locality.

Proceedings have been instituted for the acquisition of the lands of Higginstown, and the Commissioners are having inquiries made with reference to the lands of Balroan referred to. The lands have not been vested in the Land Commission.
