WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF GALWAY ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether, in view of the fact that there is a large number of congests with holdings of an average size of three acres in the immediate vicinity of the Kirwan Estate, Dalgin, Miltown, Tuam, Co. Galway, he intends to take immediate steps to have this estate acquired by the Land Commission for division among these congests.

The Land Commission have had Kirwan Estate, Dalgin, Miltown, Tuam, inspected with a view to deciding as to its suitability for acquisition under the Land Act, 1923, and the matter is being dealt with as expeditiously as possible.
