Vol. 13 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A TEMPLEMORE DUG-OUT.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that a claim has been lodged with his Department by John Ryan, of Lisheen, Moyne, Templemore, for £6 10s. 0d. for timber and galvanized iron supplied to an officer of the Irish Volunteers in May, 1921, for the purpose of constructing a dug-out; if this claim was lodged with the District Claims Officer at Templemore Barracks in December, 1922, and if the claim was forwarded to the Chief Claims Officer at Portobello Barracks; if he will state why this claim has not been satisfied, and if he will take immediate steps to see that Mr. Ryan receives the amount of his claim.

The claim referred to by the Deputy was transferred from the Department of Defence to my Department some time ago for reference to the Indemnity Act Committee. The claim has been considered by the Committee, and their award will be discharged at a very early date.
