Vol. 13 No. 19

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DECREE AGAINST COUNTY COUNCIL (CAVAN).

asked the Minister for Finance if a decree obtained by the Cavan and Leitrim Railway Company against the Cavan County Council in April, 1921, for £55 13s. 7d. has yet been paid, and, if not, if he will state when it will be paid.

The decree referred to by the Deputy is the subject of an award by the Compensation (Ireland) Commission in favour of the Cavan and Leitrim Railway Company and the Ministry of Transport, London, jointly, and the question of its discharge—with others of a similar nature—is at present engaging the attention of my Department.

Could the Minister say when he will have a decision given on it?

I could not say, because this is one of a number of cases which involve points of very considerable difficulty.
