Vol. 13 No. 19

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSION CLAIM (OFFALY).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he can state why an old age pension has not been paid to Patrick Colgan, Ballyshane, Cloghan, Offaly.

I have no trace of the receipt of an appeal upon an old age pension claim from Patrick Colgan, of Ballyshane, Cloghan, Offaly. Perhaps the Deputy's question relates to Joseph Colgan of the above address, whose claim was disallowed on the 2nd instant by the Garrycastle Pension Sub-Committee on the ground that his yearly means exceeded the statutory limit of £39 5s. 0d. If so, I have carefully considered all the circumstances and I have no option but to affirm the decision of the Sub-Committee and disallow the claim on means.
