Vol. 14 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PERSONAL INJURIES CLAIM (CLONAKILTY).

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state on what grounds a claim for compensation for personal injuries made by Mrs. D. Donovan, Cloheen Road, Clonakilty, was refused, and if the claim will be reconsidered.

As the injury in this case was sustained accidentally as the result of a collision with a British military lorry, the application did not come within the terms of reference of the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee, and was not, therefore, dealt with by that Committee. The case was, however, referred to the British Government for consideration. The applicant's solicitor was informed accordingly, and it was suggested that he should communicate with the Colonial Office in the matter, but I have no information as to the result of any application which may have been made to that Department.
