Vol. 14 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LAND FOR EX-SERVICE MEN.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he can state the total acreage of land required by the Land Commission under Part I. of the Land for Soldiers and Sailors Act, 1919, together with the acreage which has been distributed among ex-service men, and the acreage still remaining in the hands of the Commission.

12,887 acres of land have been acquired by the Land Commission under Part I. of the Irish Land (Provision for Sailors and Soldiers) Act, 1919. Of this area, 7,525 acres have been distributed among ex-service men. The area still remaining in the hands of the Land Commission is about 603 acres.

Can the Minister say when the 603 acres will be distributed?

Mr. HOGAN

Very shortly, I am sure.
