Vol. 15 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DRUM COMOGUE (LIMERICK) DRAINAGE SCHEME.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state whether a petition in respect to drainage under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1925, at Drum Comogue, Co. Limerick, was adopted by the Limerick County Council and forwarded to the Board of Works for approval, and, if so, whether he will expedite the making of enquiries by the Board of Works with a view to the adoption of the petition so that unemployment at Drum Comogue will be relieved by the work involved in carrying out the scheme.

A petition under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1925, in respect of a scheme for Drum Comogue, Co. Limerick, has been received by the Commissioners of Public Works, and arrangements will be made to have the proposed district inspected and reported on by an engineer in due course. Owing to the large number of petitions (352) already received, and the preliminary steps necessary under the Act in each case, it may be taken that even if the scheme proceeds no actual work can be started in this district during the current year.
