Vol. 15 No. 10

FINANCIAL RESOLUTIONS—REPORT. - RESOLUTION 12.

In regard to this Resolution I should explain that in last year's Finance Act, in connection with the Firearms Act, we inadvertently repealed the regulations requiring dealers in game to be licensed and we are now rectifying that error.

What was the previous licence in this connection?

It was £2, and it is proposed to increase it now to £3. A Bill is being prepared by the Department of Justice dealing with the protection of game and the conditions governing the issue of licences.

Is this a licence for all time or is it an annual licence?

An annual licence.

If the Minister is satisfied that this gives a sufficient check we are ready to accept it.

Question—"That the Dáil agree with the Committee in Resolution 12"—put and agreed to.
