Vol. 15 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DAMAGE TO ENNIS SHOW GROUNDS.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why compensation is withheld in respect of the damage done to the Ennis Show Grounds by British military, notwithstanding the fulfilment by the Committee in charge of these grounds of all the conditions specified; and if, in view of the necessity of relieving the trustees of the liability incurred by them in reconstructing the enclosure, etc., he will expedite payment.

The delay in making payment in this case arose from the fact that the Compensation (Ireland) Commission joined the Secretary of State for War in the award. The case is, however, now clear and payment will be made in the next week or two.
