CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF KILDARE LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will instruct the Land Commission to acquire the following lands for the relief of congestion in the Ballymore-Eustace area. Co. Kildare, on the estate of Mr. Edward Hornidge, viz.:—Killmalum, consisting of two hundred and fifty-two acres; Kennycourt, consisting of one hundred and seventy-six acres; Horsepasstown, consisting of seventy-one acres, and Tulfaris, consisting of seven hundred acres.

The acquisition of the lands referred to is under consideration by the Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in acquiring the lands in the Rathangan-Allen area, Co. Kildare, in respect of which a list was furnished to the Land Commission containing the names of twenty-seven congest applicants, on the 1st April, 1925, and which was acknowledged (Ref. No. 19433) on the 6th April, 1925.

The letter referred to was received, but I regret it has been mislaid by me. If the Deputy will be good enough to furnish a copy of his letter the information asked for will be furnished.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in the acquisition of the untenanted lands, consisting of four hundred and nine acres in the townland of Greenhills, Electoral Division of Newbridge Rural, Co. Kildare, held by Mr. R.H.M. Reeves, for division amongst local congests and landless men.

Mr. HOGAN

No proceedings in respect of the lands of Greenhills referred to in the question appear to be pending.

Will the Minister give instructions to have those lands inspected with a view to acquisition and division?

Mr. HOGAN

I will ask the Land Commission to make inquiries.
