Vol. 16 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. MEATH DRAINAGE SCHEME.

asked the Minister for Finance whether a scheme for the drainage of the Retain River, Robinstown. Co. Meath, has been prepared, and if he will state the cause of the delay in putting this work into operation.

The Commissioners of Public Works have had the above proposed district inspected by an engineer, and, after consideration of his report, have decided to have a survey and valuation made of the area. These will be carried out when staff is available, and as other circumstances permit.

In view of the preliminary procedure necessary under the Act it is not expected that work can be started in any of the proposed new districts this year.
