Vol. 16 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - THE SHANNON SCHEME.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that Mrs. B. Curry, Ballykillane, Ardnacrusha, is noticed to leave her house which is being acquired under the Shannon Electricity Act, 1925, and if he will state whether Mrs. Curry will be obliged to leave the house before compensation is offered.

Mrs. Bridget Curry, Ballykillane, has not received notice to leave her house under the Shannon Electricity Act. The second part of the question consequently does not arise.

Is the Minister in a position to say how many people will be disturbed in that area, and in view of the number of people who are likely to be disturbed, will he consider the desirability of introducing legislation to give compensation to tenants as well as to the owners of houses if they are disturbed?

That is a separate question.
