Vol. 17 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CATTLE SEIZURES (CLARE).

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state why cattle, the property of Timothy Flanagan, Glanquin, Kilnaboy, were seized in August, 1922; if he is aware that Mr. Flanagan was subsequently arrested in October, 1922, and that during his detention his cattle were again seized; whether the second seizure was sanctioned by the Minister's Department, and, if so, on what grounds; if he will state how the cattle were disposed of, and whether any compensation is now due to Mr. Flanagan in respect to the stock in question.

I have no record of any seizure of cattle, the property of Timothy Flanagan, at any time. I am aware that Mr. Flanagan was arrested in October, 1922, by the military, for persistent interference with the lands of Miss Fahy at Cahernamona and Ballyrahan.
