asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total quantities of wine imported into the Saorstát during the periods 1st April, 1925, to 30th November 1925, and 1st April, 1926, to 30th November, 1926, giving particulars of the quantities at strength not exceeding 30 degrees and at strength not exceeding 42 degrees; also the quantities of each strength on which duty was paid during these periods; and the quantities of each strength ex-ship (duty paid) during these periods.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - IMPORTS OF WINE.
The details required are too numerous to read to the Dáil. I will, with the Deputy's permission, send them to him. They will appear in the Official Report in due course. I regret that it is not possible to give the strengths of wine imported for warehousing during the periods specified, as these particulars are not available and could not be ascertained without incurring an undue amount of expense.
Would the Minister take steps to prevent the importation of a lot of the rubbish now being sold in Dublin which is called wine?
That is a separate question.
