Vol. 18 No. 2

ORDUITHE AN LAE. - ORDERS OF THE DAY. LAND BILL (No. 2), 1926—CONSIDERATION OF REPORT OF COMMITTEE (RESUMED).

Question proposed: "That the Report of the Select Committee on the Land Bill (No. 2), 1926, be now considered" (resumed).

It is so long since this debate was adjourned that we would like to know what the position is.

The position is that there is a formal motion that the Report be considered, and it was made in order to allow Deputies to speak on the general question of the Report of the Select Committee. As I say, it is a formal motion which, whether it is passed or withdrawn, makes very little difference. Deputy Connor Hogan adjourned the debate on the matter.

I do not think that Deputy Connor Hogan intends to say anything more on it.

I do not think that anything more could be said about it.

I understand that Deputy Connor Hogan meant to move an amendment that the report of the Committee be adopted and in that way to get the opinion of the House on it. Whether he put in an amendment or not I cannot say.

If an amendment had been put in I would have heard of it.

Motion put and agreed to.
