Vol. 18 No. 5

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the Land Commission has yet acquired the James Brannick estate (Ref. No. S.4233) County Mayo, and, if so, when is it expected that it will be divided; if not, whether he will say what is the present position with regard to this estate.

Mr. HOGAN

The lands referred to are the lands of Greaghans, Co. Mayo, containing 117a. 0r. 15p., which were published on the 1st October, 1926, in a provisional list of lands which will, if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection, become vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day. The lands were purchased under the Land Purchase Acts, and are subject to a Land Purchase annuity.

Mr. James Brannick lodged an objection to the acquisition of his lands and the matter was heard in Court by the Land Commissioners on the 26th ult., judgment being reserved.
